School Uniform: We strongly encourage the wearing of school uniform. Pale/sky blue or white shirts or blouses and grey, black or navy trousers or navy skirts with navy blue pullovers or cardigans for the winter are recommended. Blue print or checked dresses for the girls in the summer are a suitable alternative. In addition each child should be provided with shorts, plain T-shirts or polo shirts and plimsolls for PE and Games activities, and an old shirt or apron for art and craftwork. These items should be kept in a suitable bag, which can hang on a peg. All clothing should be clearly marked with the child's name to reduce the possibility of loss. School sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts and T-shirts can be ordered through the "Friends of Hursley School Association" shop. If you have difficulty in providing your child with essential items of clothing or footwear for physical education, a limited amount of financial assistance may be available depending upon your income. For further details please contact the Administrative Officer, Mrs Geraldine Brown. Lost property: We strongly recommend the naming of all clothes. Unclaimed, unmarked clothes are kept for a short time at school and from time to time unclaimed garments are put on display and all children can examine them. Items not claimed are put aside for a charitable cause. Money & Other Valuable Items: Children should not bring money to school other than necessary amounts for essential expenditure, nor should they bring valuable possessions as the school cannot accept responsibility for any loss, which may occur at the school. |
